Kartchner Cares Post
From its inception, Kartchner Homes has been committed to improving the lives of individuals and the communities in which it serves. From helping build homes for families in need, to participating as the main home builder in ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition in Logan, Utah for the Pauni Family—Kartchner Homes has continued to look for ways to bless lives and lift spirits.
In 2013, Kartchner went through a major re-branding, where it took its land development division, residential building divisions (Kartchner Homes, the premier Cache Valley Home Builders and Kartchner Homes of Idaho, award-winning home builders in Idaho Falls), its commercial building division and its property management division and put them under one name – Kartchner, Inc.
In November of 2013, Kartchner launched its service-oriented branch of the company, Kartchner Cares. The goal of Kartchner Cares is simple...to do good things for good people in need. What does this mean? It means that Kartchner is constantly on the lookout for people who work hard to support themselves and their families but, through no fault of their own, could use a little extra kindness and assistance.
Kartchner Cares is constantly on the lookout for community events or organizations that align with its purposes and goals and with which it can partner to improve and bless the lives of deserving people within the communities in of Northern Utah and Southeastern Idaho; where its employees work, raise their families and are proud to call home.
This past December, the employees and subcontractors of Kartchner did just that, searching for families and individuals that could use a little extra kindness during the Christmas Holidays. In the end, they found two families—one in Idaho and one in Utah—each with its own set of challenges.
A Family in Distress
In Idaho, a family with six kids, found through a local church leader, was about to lose their home due to their financial circumstances and certainly would not have much money to spend on Christmas.
Through the efforts of our Idaho employees and through the support of Kartchner Cares, a gift box was delivered to this family containing a few holiday treats and a pre-paid Visa Card to help lessen their burdens, pay off some debt and have a very merry Christmas.
The amazing thing about this experience is that the family stayed completely, 100% anonymous to the Kartchner employees, who put the time and effort into making this family's lives a little lighter and a little brighter...this is truly what Kartchner Cares is all about.
A Home Needing Help
In Utah, a family was nominated with five kids that were being raised by a single mother. When approached about Kartchner possibly providing some assistance, this hard-working mother indicated that we could help best by providing her with some much-needed home improvement projects, which she had neither the time nor the resources to tackle.
Although all of the Utah employees were willing to help, Jeremy Burbank and Brandon Merritt were assigned to go and asses the home's situation. Over the following weeks, these two employees utilized their building skills and their personal time and corrected several electrical issues in the home, including correcting wiring issues and replacing and repairing light fixtures.
Also, Kartchner worked with Shane Falslev Flooring to replace both a pad and carpet that had been damaged during a flood—moving furniture out of the room, laying the carpet and pad and putting the room back in order.
We are extremely grateful to Shane Falslev Flooring for the time and materials they provided to bless the life of this family.
And, once spring arrives, Tony Stauffer of S & B Landscaping has also committed to helping this family get their sprinkler system up and running correctly.
We at Kartchner, Inc. are proud to work with, and have the opportunity to serve, such great individuals in our communities and look forward to many more great experiences as we work to bless and improve lives through Kartchner Cares.
